March certainly roared into the year, eh? Let's see if she goes out like a lamb. This week was certainly dominated by the massive winter storm that started Thursday and blew through Sunday, dumping about 14" of snow in our back patio. 

I did paint during the storm. Though, a different kind of painting. My sweet hubby has been gently nudging me to paint the new sneaky door between the kitty room and my new home studio (which has hung with just primer paint for about four months). I thought it would be easy peasy breezy to paint a door. Turns out... it's kind of a lot of work. Two sides, two coats of paint, vertigo, hand cramps, sore hamstrings. Who knew!? Now I like to sit on the kitties' futon and admire my work. Perhaps this is the beginning of my "White Period"? hahaha.

I have lots of ideas for my next painting series. I've been collecting photo references and scouring my favorite magazines and watercolor catalogs (usually with a cat on my lap and a cup of tea or coffee at close hand - research is hard work, people!). Desert flowers, figures in motion, spontaneous landscapes, city scenes, abstractions, caricatures, plein air are just a few series oncepts rattling 'round in my brain. So many options, so little time. I hope to begin on something this week. Which series would you like to see?
