While teaching a workshop overlooking Mono Lake near Lee Vining, California, the workshop group and I left our first evening session in a darkened room to be gobsmacked by this Coral sky above the lake. It doesn't look real, but it surely was. I painted this from my photo after returning home. I used my favorite wet-to-dry technique to capture the soft transitions. I lifted out the clouds with paper towel. It was a fun little quick exercise. The painting comes packaged in a mat kit with a black core white mat, backing board, cellophane protective cover, and a certificate of authenticity.
